The R71 series capacitors from Kemet are radial leaded single sided metalized polypropylene film capacitors for SMPS PFC applications. The radial leads of tinned wire are electrically welded to the metal layer on the ends of the capacitor winding. The capacitor is encapsulated in a self extinguishing solvent resistant plastic case with thermosetting resin material meeting UL94 V-0 requirements. Typical applications include power factor correction and pulse applications. It is not suitable for across the line application.
